2024 (Sr.) | 12/2: Childress appeared in 12 games with two starts in his lone season at WKU. He caught six passes for 73 yards, and also recorded two rushes for 3 yards. Childress got the starting nod in the season opener at Alabama on Aug. 31 and in his return to New Mexico State on Nov. 9. He posted a season-best 38 yards on three receptions in the Nov. 16 game against Louisiana Tech.
Before WKU: Childress appeared in 24 games over two seasons at New Mexico State before arriving on The Hill. During his time with the Aggies, the receiver caught 27 passes for 432 yards and two touchdowns. He caught 10 passes for 220 yards and a score in 2023 during his final season at New Mexico State, and had 17 receptions for 212 yards and a touchdown the season prior. Childress spent two seasons at Coffeyville Community College in Kansas before transferring to New Mexico State. He appeared in 14 games over two seasons with the Red Ravens, catching a total of 33 passes for 481 yards and three touchdowns. Childress also spent time at Troy and Iowa Western Community College early in his collegiate career, but did not see any game action with those two programs.
HS/Misc.: Childress prepped at Trinity Catholic High School in Missouri and led the program to its first ever state championship in 2018. The Titans went 13-2 during that championship season and 34-4 over Childress’ final three seasons. He finished his career with 1,358 yards and 20 touchdowns on 61 catches offensively, and added 141 solo tackles and seven interceptions on defense. He earned First Team All-Conference honors on offense and Second Team All-Conference honors on defense while at Trinity Catholic.
