Before WKU: Smith went to Eastern Kentucky, where he caught 51 passes for 538 yards in 24 games from the 2017-to-2019 seasons. Made 12 total starts in the slot receiver position. Had a career day on Nov. 17, 2018 at Tennessee Tech, with 12 rececptions for 163 yards, including a career-long 42-yard grab. Made his collegiate debut on Sept. 2, 2017 in the Colonels' 31-17 loss at WKU, with two catches for 25 yards on the evening. He did not compete during the 2020 campaign.
HS/Misc.: Smith went to Male HS in Louisville and played for head coach Chris Wolfe. Garnered Associated Press honorable mention all-state honors following his senior season, when he caught 56 passes for 1,005 yards and 12 touchdowns. Was also a member of the track team.
