Before WKU: Carey came to WKU after three seasons at Weber State, where he appeared in 33 games, including all of his team’s games over the last two seasons. In 2025, he totaled 45 tackles, four tackles for loss and an interception. The year prior, Carey tallied 35 tackles, one tackle for loss and a pass breakup. He had 13 tackles as a true freshman in 2023, and he earned Big Sky Academic All-Conference honors that season.
