Before WKU: Johnson comes to WKU from Georgia State, where he spent the past four seasons and appeared in 33 games, including all 24 the team played the past two seasons, primarily at center. In his final season with the Panthers, he helped the team accumulate 4,514 yards of offense and averaged 254.1 yards passing per game while appearing in all 12 games. He appeared in 12 games during the 2024 season, eight in 2023 and one in 2022.
HS/Misc.: Johnson prepped at Gray Collegiate Academy in South Carolina, where he helped lead his team to the 2A state title. He was named First Team All-State by the South Carolina Football Coaches Association. At Gray Collegiate Academy, he helped block for the nation’s leading rusher KZ Adams, who had 3,343 yards, including 450 in the state championship victory. Johnson was also picked for the Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Bowl and the North vs. South All-Star Game.
