Cheer Tryouts - Western Kentucky University Athletics

Tryouts for the 2024-2025 season are May 9-12, with an optional session on May 8. The evening of May 8 will serve as an opportunity to establish your tryout groups/partners with other athletes that are a part of the tryout process.

Fight Song Evaluation
Establish Gameday Stunt

Round 2 – In-Person

Evaluate Gameday Stunt
Establish Elite Stunt

Friday, May 10^th In-Person
Round 3 – Mock Tryout

Round 4 – Final Tryout (Beginning at 5 p.m.)

*Cuts can be made after any round.

REQUIREMENTS

Tumbling
Males: Standing tuck is HIGHLY recommended.
Females: Standing tuck, running full, and two to a full – anything additional will set you apart greatly.

Stunting
Coed: Toss stunts, toss cupie.
All-Girl: Full up, full up immediate body position, all full around skills, knowledge and introductory elite skills.
Top Girls: A double down from a body position is required.

Examples of IME/Gameday Stunts
Coed: All toss stunts, full ups, tic-tocks, full arounds – any stunt that does not require a spot.
All girl: All spinning skills.

Examples of Elite Stunts
Coed and All Girl: BHS/BHS full up, rewind, extended hand in hand, FHS/FHS 1.5 up and beyond.
