Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) at WKU is a leadership group composed of influential student-athlete representatives from each sport, selected by their coaches for their ability to positively impact their teams and represent their peers. SAAC serves as the collective voice of WKU student-athletes, providing a platform to advocate for their welfare, share feedback, and collaborate on initiatives that enhance the student-athlete experience both on campus and within Conference USA and the NCAA.
SAAC members play an active role in the development and execution of life skills programming and community service opportunities. They serve on four subcommittees—CLIMB, Tops on 3, Tops Trending, and Tops are More—which focus on areas such as leadership development, mental health and wellness, social engagement, and personal and professional growth.
SAAC is supported by Callahan Wiegandt (Director, Student-Athlete Development), and Savannah Savage (Director of TOPCARE), who work alongside the SAAC Co-Chairs to guide discussion, implement programming, and ensure student-athlete voices are heard and acted upon.
Through SAAC, WKU student-athletes take ownership of their experience, bring meaningful change to their programs, and foster a culture of leadership, service, and empowerment.
