We are looking for well-rounded student-athletes to serve as ambassadors of Western Kentucky University at athletic events, during on-campus and off-campus appearances, and competitively. WKU Cheer has a Large Coed Team and an All-Girl Team. We are looking for males, top girls, bases, and backspots with experience that fit our program.

What events do teams cheer for?
- Home Football games, with opportunities to travel
- Home Volleyball matches
- Men’s and Women’s Basketball
Is there opportunity to travel?
- Travel to some away games, postseason bowl games, and tournaments
- Travel to College Combines for recruitment
Do your teams compete?
- Large Coed D1A at UCA College Nationals in Orlando, Florida
- All-Girl D1A at UCA College Nationals in Orlando, Florida
- Both Traditional Routines
Does WKU Cheer offer Scholarships?
Once on the roster, athletes will receive $2,000 per academic year. Athletes will also receive out-of-state tuition waivers. This ensures the college tuition rate is similar to in-state tuition for each athlete.
What does an athlete’s weekly schedule look like?
- Practice 3 days a week (Nationals practices are different)
- Workouts 2-3 times per week
- Study hours based on year in the program and individual GPA
