Lillie Mason finished her WKU career as the all-time leading scorer at WKU at the time with 2,262 points. She racked up 38 points vs. Memphis State as a freshman. By the time that season ended she held a new WKU freshman scoring mark. As a senior, she set a new school scoring mark with 721 points.
Her career scoring average of 18.1 points per game ranked first in the WKU record books at the time. The Russellville native held school records in career shooting percentage, free throw percentage, free throws attempted, free throws made, blocks and rebounds upon completion of her time at WKU.
Mason was a three-time All-American, including WKU's first Kodak All-American honoree in 1986. She led WKU to a 94-32 record in her career at WKU with two Final Four appearances.
Mason starred at Olmstead High. Mason averaged 34 points and 15 rebounds as a senior in leading Olmstead to a 22-6 finish in her final year as a prep. She shot 67 percent from the field and 84 percent from the free throw line to finish her prep career with 2,532 points. She was a two-time All-State selection and was named to the Parade Magazine and Converse All-American teams.
