2016 (r-Jr.) | 11/1: Bertram earned his first career start as a redshirt junior, earning that at the Miami (Ohio) game. He saw action in 11 games before injury sidelined him for the final three games of the season. Bertram tallied 19 total tackles with 10 coming on kickoff coverage. At FAU, Bertram forced and recovered a fourth quarter fumble.
2015 (r-So.) | 14/0: Bertram saw action in all 14 games, recording at least one tackle in 10 of them as a reserve linebacker. He tallied a season-high three tackles (one solo) against Miami and finished with 15 tackles (eight solo) on the season. Bertram was primarily utilized in special teams situations as well, with 12 of his 15 tackles coming on special teams coverage, including 11 on kickoff.
2014 (r-Fr.) | 11/0: Bertram was a key reserve at middle linebacker and also served as a special teams ace last season. In his first season on the field, he posted 19 tackles, one sack, forced a fumble, and intercepted a pass. Bertram had a six-yard tackle for loss in a win over Army, along with a forced fumble in a win over UTSA. Bertram’s interception came against LA Tech quarterback Cody Sokol on November 1st.
2013 (Fr.): Bertram redshirted his first season on The Hill.
HS/Misc.: Bertram was a two-star prospect out of Trinity High School, where he played for coach Bob Beatty. While at Trinity, Bertram’s 2012 Shamrocks finished as the No. 1 in Kentucky, No. 11 nationally in the MaxPreps.com high school rankings. Bertram tallied 57 tackles in his senior season and won state championships in three consecutive seasons (2010-12.)
