2022 Conference USA Honorable Mention
2022 (r-Sr.) | 14/12: Smith was an instant-impact transfer for the Hilltoppers as he played in every game on the team's schedule and made 12 starts. Smith finished second on the team in tackles with 99 and made 6.0 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks. Smith helped the WKU defense finish first in the country in forced turnovers by intercepting a pass against Troy and recovering a fumble at UTSA. He also broke up four additional passes on the year. Smith recorded a season-high 12 tackles at Indiana and hit double digits again with 10 at UTSA. He received Conference USA Honorable Mention recognition at the end of the season.
Before WKU: Transferred to The Hill from Illinois where he spent three years. Made 22 tackles in 2020. Spent two years at Miami before transferring to Illinois. Made 24 tackles in two years for the Hurricanes.
HS/Misc: Prepped at Trinity Catholic in Jacksonville, Fla. Rated a three-star recruit by 247Sports, ESPN, Rivals and Scout. Recruited by USC, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Cincinnati out of high school.
