HS/Misc.: Bass played for head coach Doug Preston, leading the Wildcats to a 16-1 record and a Kentucky Class 4A Championship in a repeat of 2017. During the 2018 season, FSHS outscored opponents 668-to-222. As a senior, Bass set the single-season rushing records with 2,101 yards and 31 touchdowns, following up a junior season in which he rushed for 1,437 while splitting carries with a pair of other backs. Bass was elected the Class 4A Player of the Year by the Kentucky Football Coaches Association and was a finalist for the FFCA’s inaugural Mr. Football Award. He earned a spot on the Associated Press, Courier-Journal and USA Today All-State First Teams, as well as All-SKY Conference First Team honors, and was also picked to compete in the Best of the Bluegrass All-Star Football Game. Rated as a two-star with a 79 composite score by 247Sports, ranking 34th overall in the state and 27th nationally as an all-purpose back.
