PFF College C-USA Team of the Week (Sept. 29, 2018)
2019 (Jr.) | 13/1: Sloan bounced back from his season-ending injury in 2018 to appear in all 13 games for the Hilltoppers, including a start in the season-opener on Aug. 29 vs. Central Arkansas. He showed his versatility with a career-high 628 all-purpose yards, which included 297 receiving, 80 rushing and 251 on kickoff returns. He had a career-high 34 receptions while adding one touchdown through the air; a five-yard score on Nov. 2 vs. Florida Atlantic. On the ground, he had touchdown rushes of 19 and 21 yards, respectively, in back-to-back games at Arkansas on Nov. 9 and Southern Miss on Nov. 23, while also adding a 14-yarder on Oct. 12 vs. Army and a 16-yarder against the Owls. On special teams, he had 13 kickoff returns – all in the final six games – for 251 yards, which included a career-long 37-yarder on Oct. 26 at Marshall.
2018 (So.) | 9/6: Sloan started six contests and appeared in nine games as a sophomore, with a career-high 31 receptions and 495 yards, which ranked fifth and third on the Hilltoppers, respectively, in 2018. He caught four receptions for a career-high 89 yards through the first 17 minutes of WKU’s game on Nov. 2 at Middle Tennessee before suffering a season-ending injury in the second quarter. He had 80-plus yards on two other occasions, including 83 yards on a career-high six receptions on Oct. 13 at Charlotte. The prior game, on Sept. 29 vs. Marshall, he was named to the PFF College Conference USA Team of the Week after he grabbed four catches for 83 yards, including a career-long 60-yard reception from Steven Duncan late in the fourth quarter. He led the Hilltoppers with 16 yards per catch, while ranking second with seven receptions of 20-plus yards despite missing the final three contests. He also added five kickoff returns for 101 yards.
2017 (Fr.) | 9/3: Sloan recorded 12 receptions for 182 yards and two touchdowns in his freshman season, while his 15.17 yards per reception mark was third-best on the team. Of his overall numbers, 10 catches, 161 yards receiving and both scores came in the span of three weeks. He had four receptions for 57 yards on Oct. 14 vs. Charlotte, including a 39-yard touchdown on the first play of the fourth quarter to cap the WKU score at 45-14. His next catch, the following week at Old Dominion, was a career-long 44-yard score that put WKU ahead 7-0. Then, on Oct. 28 vs. Florida Atlantic, he matched his season-high of four receptions and set a new career-high with 61 yards, while also returning two kickoffs for 31 yards. In the Cure Bowl against Georgia State, he returned three more kickoffs for 56 yards.
HS/Misc.: Sloan prepped at Grady High School in Atlanta for coach Earthwind Moreland. The versatile athlete tallied 103 carries, 610 yards and three touchdowns at the running back position his sophomore and junior seasons, before transitioning to receiver his senior year where he racked up 62 catches, 1,252 yards and 13 touchdowns. For his efforts at wideout, he earned first team all-state by the Georgia Sports Writers Association. He also led the Knights to a 10-2 record and a second round showing in the GHSA 5-A playoffs. He is a two-star on 247Sports.com and is the 178th-best athlete in the country.
