BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Volleyball Sophomore Setter Kate Rush has been named the Conference USA Setter of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Rush compiled an impressive stat line over WKU's 2-1 weekend at the SEMO Tournament totaling 16 kills, 81 assists, 18 digs, eight service aces, and two blocks, and a combined hitting percentage of .455.
In a 3-0 sweep against the Redhawks on Friday, Rush logged seven kills, five service aces, 22 assists, six digs, two blocks, and finished with a .538 hitting percentage. Her seven kills and five service aces both mark a career best. She managed three aces and 19 assists against No. 25 Oregon on Friday. Rush rounded out the weekend Saturday with a career high 40 assists in WKU's 3-0 win over SEMO and added eight digs, five kills, and a block in the effort.
Rush is currently leading the league in Service Aces/Set with eight total for an average of 0.89/set.
The Hilltoppers return to action on Thursday with the opening match of the Wright State Invitational against Ball State. First serve is set for 5 p.m. CT with audio streaming on The Varsity Network.
