HOW IT HAPPENED
Torri James, Tia Shelling, Trinity Rowe, Zsofia Telegdy and Salma Khedr were the first five on the court for WKU. It is the fourth time this season the group has started a game together.
FIU scored the first points of the game, but Rowe connected on a 3-pointer at the 8:09 mark to give WKU a 3-2 lead. The Panthers scored a minute later to take a 5-3 lead. WKU tied the game three times in the quarter after that but were unable to take a lead. FIU took a 24-17 lead into the second quarter. FIU outscored WKU 19-10 in the second quarter to take a 43-27 lead into halftime. The Lady Toppers were outscored 37-27 in the second half.
NOTABLES
- Trinity Rowe led the team in scoring for the second time this season. The sophomore finished with 17 points. It was her seventh double digit game of the season and the 16th of her career.
- Salma Khedr had nine points and three rebounds. Zsofia Telegdy had seven points, three rebounds and two assists.
