Lady Toppers Win Exhibition Against Young Harris - Western Kentucky University Athletics

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU women's basketball defeated Young Harris College, 84-66, in an exhibition win on Saturday afternoon in E.A. Diddle Arena.

WKU took an early lead, but the two teams went back and forth until the Lady Toppers went on a 15-4 run to close out the quarter with a 22-14 lead. The second quarter was similar with the two trading baskets early and then WKU taking over with a 13-3 run to end the half with a 42-25 lead. The Lady Toppers outscored the Mountain Lions, 24-16 in the third quarter for a 66-41 lead going into the final quarter.

Three different Lady Toppers scored in double figures and 10 Lady Toppers notched points in the scoring column. WKU shared the ball efficiently, recording 20 assists on 29 made field goals. The Lady Toppers were also 17-24 from the free throw line.

WKU will officially open the season on Wednesday, Nov. 4 against Chattanooga in Diddle Arena. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m.
