HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bulldogs got the first shot of the afternoon in the fifth minute. Samford broke open the scoring in the seventh minute of the match. Ansley Rice would get the first Hilltopper shot off in the 15th minute. Makenna Egan fired the second shot for WKU two minutes later. Georgia Liapis got her first shot of the day off following a corner kick in the 36th minute. WKU would go into the half, trailing 1-0.
Maddie Davis had three saves in the first 45 minutes of play. The Tops managed two corners compared to Samford's one in the period.
In the second half, Samford scored their second goal in the 65th minute. Alyvia Walls managed a shot on goal in minute 72. Abby Davis and Abby Wiedermann each managed one apiece in the final 15 minutes of the match.

- Alyvia Walls charted WKU's lone shot on goal in the match Sunday afternoon. Walls finished up with one shot in 61 minutes.
- Ansley Rice, Abby Wiedermann, Makenna Egan, Georgia Liapis, and Abby Davis all finished with one shot each.
- Maddie Davis managed eight saves on Sunday afternoon with two goals allowed.
- Davis' eight saves are the most for the graduate goalkeeper since she charted eight against MTSU on Oct. 13, 2024.

On the result Sunday head coach Jason Neidell said "Hats off to Samford. They out-competed us in just about every facet of the game today. Overall we learned some valuable lessons this weekend that will make us better as we prepare for the conference slate. We are excited to get back in front of our home crowd this week for senior night."
