The FBSOC oversees the administration and governance of FBS football. It works with conferences and schools to ensure rules, policies and championships are fair and consistent across the subdivision. The group focuses on enhancing the student-athlete experience, monitoring health and safety, and addressing issues unique to FBS football.
Stewart represents CUSA as one of the FBSOC's 19 members:
- 10 representatives from each Division I Football Bowl Subdivision conference.
- 2 head coaches from any Division I Football Bowl Subdivision conference.
- 1 conference commissioner from any Division I Football Bowl Subdivision conference.
- 1 conference administrator from any Division I Football Bowl Subdivision conference.
- 1 faculty athletics representative from any Division I Football Bowl Subdivision conference (nonvoting).
- 2 student-athlete representatives (1 DI SAAC member and 1 football student-athlete).
- 1 representative from the American Football Coaches Association (nonvoting).
- 1 representative from the College Football Playoff (nonvoting).
