Head Coach Travis Hudson and the WKU Volleyball program are excited to announce the annual volleyball banquet to celebrate the 2024 season.Â
It will be held on Saturday, February 22nd in the Jack and Jackie Harbaugh Stadium Club on the new side of L.T. Smith Stadium (closest to the baseball field). The program will include a buffet lunch starting at 12:00pm followed by a program to recognize the 2024 players and season. The cost of the banquet is $25 per person, which includes your meal. You may choose to give more to help sponsor one or more of the players' meals. Our goal is to get enough sponsors to cover the cost of the players' meals and the awards. Any additional money will be placed directly into our program. We realize the success of previous banquets is due to those who have helped sponsor it so thank you for your generous support throughout the years!Â
The 2024 fall season was another one for the books as this marked the 25th straight 20+ win season with an overall record of 28-7 and an undefeated 18-0 conference mark. WKU Volleyball claimed their 10th regular season Conference USA championship and captured its 9th C-USA tournament championship since joining the league in 2014 to receive an automatic bid into the NCAA tournament. This was the program's 17th NCAA tournament appearance since 2002 and 10th appearance in the last 11 seasons.Â
This team earned numerous accolades including five CUSA All-Conference selections and two All-Freshman team selections along with the CUSA Alyssa Cavanaugh Player of the Year, Setter of the Year, and Coach of the Year awards. Three Hilltoppers were named All-Region selections and one was named an AVCA All-American. This marks the 17th season since 2005 that WKU Volleyball has had an All-American honor. Â
WKU Volleyball also climbed as high as #26 in the national poll marking the 14th season WKU volleyball has either been nationally ranked or received votes in the last 15 years. To commemorate yet another NCAA tournament run, we are also asking for your support to purchase NCAA championship rings for our players as a keepsake that they will cherish for the rest of their lives. If you would like to sponsor a player (each ring is $250 but any amount is greatly appreciated).
It was a memorable season full of overcoming challenges on the road to success, and we hope you will join us for the banquet to recognize the tremendous accomplishments of this special group of young ladies. If you have any questions regarding the banquet or ring sponsorship, please email Kristi Griffin at kristi.griffin@wku.edu.Â
To RSVP, please fill out and mail the form linked at the top of the page, marked "RSVP".
Those attending the banquet may park in any lot around the stadium including PS2 (first level will be blocked off for the basketball game); then enter the building on the Avenue of Champions side closest to the baseball field and take the elevator to the club level.
