BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU student-athletes completed the fall semester with a 3.24 cumulative grade-point average, the highest in WKU history, while all 14 athletic programs compiled a fall-semester team GPA of at least 3.00 for the first time in WKU athletics history, as well.
"Congratulations to our student-athletes for their successes during the fall semester," Athletic Director Todd Stewart said. "It requires tremendous discipline and time management skills to excel in a very competitive athletics environment while also succeeding in the classroom. These numbers validate how special our student-athletes are. To have all 14 programs with a 3.0 GPA or better for the first time in our history is a testament to the focus and commitment of our student-athletes, but also to our coaches and athletics staff who strive to assist them in reaching their full potential every day."
Seventy-five percent (259) of WKU's student-athletes carried a GPA above 3.0 for the fall semester, while 70% (240) hold a cumulative GPA above 3.0.
Sixty-seven Hilltoppers earned the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal with a GPA above 3.75 during the fall.
