BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Cross Country head coach Lee Wood has announced cross country's 2024 competition schedule.
On the upcoming season, Wood said "We had a good first semester last year focusing on culture and recruiting 13 new distance athletes that are looking to really add strength to our men's and women's program! I'm excited to have them back in a month to see their fitness and get to work!"
The program will have six returners for the men's squad and five for the women's team.
The team kicks off the season with the Belmont Opener for the second consecutive year on August 30. They then head down to Huntsville, Ala. for the Southern Showcase, set to run the morning of Sept. 13.
The October portion of the schedule starts in the Derby City with the Live in Lou Classic at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky. WKU will then travel to Evansville, Ind. for the Angel Mounds Invitational on Friday, Oct. 18.
The postseason gets underway Nov. 2 with the Conference USA Championships. This year's meet will be hosted by Jacksonville State. Last season it was held at Hobson Grove Park in Bowling Green.
The 2024 NCAA Southeast Regionals are set for Nov. 15 and will take place in Rock Hill, S.C.
