BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — WKU women's basketball freshman forward Caitlin Staley has been named Conference USA Freshman of the Week for her play against Louisiana Tech and Jacksonville State.
It's the second weekly award for the Staley this season. She previously earned the recognition on Nov. 20.
The Augusta, Georgia native had six points, three blocks, three rebounds and an assist in 17 minutes of play against Jacksonville State and put up four points, five rebounds and a block against LA Tech in 14 minutes.
The Jacksonville State game was the ninth this season the freshman has recorded multiple blocks and it was the most for her since blocking three shots against Abilene Christian earlier in the season. Her five rebounds against LA Tech tied her career high.
Staley and the Lady Toppers will be on the road this week with a trip out west. WKU will face UTEP on Thursday, Feb. 15 and then will take on New Mexico State on Saturday, Feb. 17.
