HOW IT HAPPENED
The match was a 0-0 stalemate until the 83rd minute when Sam Houston got off a shot that bounced down off the crossbar and went over the goal line to give the Bearkats the 1-0 lead.
WKU made a final push in the last few minutes with multiple looks at the goal, the best coming from graduate student Lily Rummo who had a shot sail just above the crossbar.
NOTABLES
- The Hilltoppers outshot Sam Houston 11-7 in the match, but the Bearkats had the advantage in shots on goal with three over two.
- Kayla Meyer led WKU in shots with three on the night while Aspen Seaich, Maggie Morris and Rummo each had two.
- Maddie Davis finished with two saves in the match.
