DALLAS, Texas – WKU Cross Country's Jared Sandfoss was named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team on Tuesday. The Lexington native is one of six athletes named to the team.
Sandfoss maintained the highest GPA (4.00 GPA) and was the youngest player to earn the honor. With Sandfoss, WKU was one of five schools with an athlete honored.
"We are very proud of Jared for his accomplishment," said head coach Ron Becht. "This was well deserved and he worked hard for this honor."
Sandfoss earned his first honor on the All-Academic team with a 4.0 GPA majoring in Computer Science. On the course, Sandfoss led the way for the Hilltoppers in all five meets this past season. In addition, he finished in the top-50 in four of the five meets including an eighth-place finish at the WKU Invitational on Sept. 15.
