CLARKSVILLE, TENN. — WKU Soccer's preseason came to a close Sunday with a 2-2 draw at Austin Peay in exhibition action.
The Lady Toppers scored the first two goals of the contest, including a goal by Kendall King on the assist from Katie Erwin in the 30th minute. WKU also scored on an own goal by Austin Peay in the 51st minute.
Austin Peay answered with the equalizers in the 57th and 81st minutes. Both teams finished with nine total shots.
Alexis Bach played 78-plus minutes in goal for WKU with three saves, while Afton Schraml added 12 minutes as keeper with a crucial save with less than 90 seconds remaining to preserve the draw.
Following a pair of exhibition draws against Murray State and Austin Peay, WKU will open its regular season at Xavier at 5 p.m. CT Thursday in Cincinnati.
