Stansbury Adds Transfer in Lander

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Hilltopper Basketball head coach Rick Stansbury announced the signing of transfer Khristian Lander to the team's 2022-23 roster. Lander will join the Hilltoppers with three years of eligibility remaining after spending two seasons at Indiana.

"We're excited to have Khristian join our program," said Stansbury on Lander. "He comes from a good program and on top of that, he has a really great family. Khristian is a young man with a tremendous ceiling and we look forward to helping him reach his highest potential."

In the 2021-22 season, Lander appeared in 13 contests, averaging 2.9 points, shooting 33.3% from the arc and dishing out 12 assists on the year. He had season highs in points (9), rebounds (6), assists (6) and minutes played (24) against Louisiana in November.

Lander was recently named to the Big Ten All-Academic Team after posting a 3.20 GPA.

In his first season with the Hoosiers, Lander played in 26 games, averaging 2.1 points, and totaling 30 assists.

Out of high school, Lander was originally the No. 11 recruit out of the 2021 class per 247Sports before reclassifying to the 2020 class, graduating and leaving high school as a junior. After reclassifying, he was ranked in the top 30 players in the Class of 2020 by both Rivals.com, 247 Sports and ESPN.

Lander averaged 21.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.6 assists as a junior at Evansville Reitz High School. After scoring 1,314 points in his career, he was named a second-team All-State member, an Indiana Junior All-Star and a first-team All-Southern Indiana Athletic Conference member.

Lander's father Keith was a three-year letterwinner for Hilltopper Football as a defensive back under Coach Jack Harbaugh.
