BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — A record 72 WKU student-athletes received the Conference USA Academic Medal, the league announced on Friday. The mark topped the previous best number of 66 reached in 2020-21. The honor is given to student-athletes who maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 or better during the 2021-22 academic year.
Every WKU program had someone on the list and six programs had more than five. Women's soccer had 15 student-athletes earn the award while baseball had 11 on the list.
A total of 1,171 student-athletes earned the medal this year across Conference USA.
On Thursday, 204 WKU student-athletes were named to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll for maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
