BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - WKU women's basketball will be the No. 4 seed out of the East division in the Conference USA Championship to be played in Frisco, Texas next week. The Lady Toppers will face the No. 5 seed out of the West, UAB, on Wednesday, March 9 at 1:30 p.m. (CT). The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.

WKU and UAB faced off earlier in the season with the Blazers winning the matchup, 86-70, in Birmingham. UAB shot 48.4 percent from the field in that game and were 40.0 percent from three-point range.
Meral Abdelgawad scored 28 points in that game, Alexis Mead had 17, Mya Meredith added 13, and Macey Blevins scored 11 points.
WKU is 19-7 against UAB all-time and have faced the Blazers at a neutral site only once. That contest came in the 2018 C-USA tournament championship game and the Lady Toppers won 72-57.
