BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The WKU women's soccer program has announced its 2022 summer camp dates and times and is set to host five camps this summer, including the Spring Holiday Camp (April 5-7), Early Summer ID Camp (May 7-8), Elite Summer ID Camp (July 8-9), Team Camp (July 10-13) and Half Day Camp (July 18-21).
Updated information and online registration are available for all camps on the Hilltopper Soccer Academy website at www.wkusoccercamps.com. The camp prices listed below reflect the early-bird discount, which is valid until May 31.
Special discounts are also available specifically for the Summer Elite ID Camp and Team Camp. Siblings who attend together receive a $30 discount each, and campers who attend both camp sessions earn a $100 discount.
The Spring Holiday Camp ($100) and the Half Day Camp ($110) are designed for boys and girls ages 5-12 of all abilities. Campers are grouped by age and skill level. Daily activities include instructional practices and games in a fun and challenging environment with emphasis on individual soccer technique, team-building and sportsmanship values. The Spring Holiday Camp runs 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. daily, while the Half Day Camp is 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
The Early Summer ID Camp ($120) and the Elite Summer ID Camp ($255) is for female players aspiring to play at the next level. The Early Summer ID Camp is for girls in grades 10-12 and the Elite Summer ID Camp is for girls in grades 7-12. The Early Summer ID Camp will focus almost exclusively on small-sided and full-sided games. The Elite Summer ID Camp focuses on player development through advanced technical and tactical training and competitive match play. Goalkeepers will experience advanced individual training to improve footwork, angle play, shot-stopping, diving, distribution and defensive organization.
The Team Camp ($295) is a female-only camp geared to prepare high school and club teams and individual players for the upcoming season through instructional sessions and a championship tournament. Players will improve field awareness through a series of instructional sessions designed to develop skills, as well as a better understanding of the game. Goalkeepers will receive individual instruction from our qualified goalkeeper staff. Independent campers will join an appropriate training group based on age and ability. Our staff coaches will work personally with each visiting coach to implement tactics that highlight team strengths. Additional activities may include team-building activities, leadership lessons, strength and conditioning, injury prevention, soccer nutrition, college recruiting discussions or panels about college life.
Due to the pandemic, all summer 2022 camp sessions will be non-residential, meaning that no one will be housed on the WKU campus. As a result, all campers who are visiting from out of town are encouraged to book their hotel accommodations early.
