BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — A trio of WKU Soccer student-athletes have been named to the Conference All-Academic Teams, the league announced on Friday morning. Alexis Bach and Ansley Cate were tabbed to the First Team and Lily Rummo was named to the Second Team.
Bach has been one of the top goalkeepers in the conference all season. She has the second best goals against average in the league, allowing just 0.71 goals per game for the season, which is also top 50 in the nation. Her six shutouts are the fourth most in the conference and her 80.4 save percentage is third.
The Lowville, New York native is in graduate school at WKU, majoring in Kinesiology with a 3.66 GPA.
It is the second time Cate has been named to the league's All-Academic Team, earning second team honors in 2020. Cate made a position change coming into the 2022 season, moving to defender from forward to fill in on the backline after the graduation of two defensive starters from last season. Cate has been crucial in the defense's success, including allowing just 12 goals this season in 16 matches. That mark is the lowest number of goals allowed by any team in the conference.
The Paris, Tennessee native is an exercise science major at WKU with a 3.95 GPA.
Rummo is a starting forward in the Lady Toppers' attack. She has the second most goals scored on the team, notching goals against Tennessee Tech and UTEP. Rummo also assisted on a goal against Union.
The Franklin, Tennessee native is a psychology major at WKU with a 4.00 GPA.
