BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — A total of 208 WKU student-athletes – the school's most since joining Conference USA – earned Commissioner's Honor Roll recognition from the league Wednesday for maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better during the 2020-21 academic year.
WKU's 208 honorees (63% of all student-athletes) are the most in the school's seven years in C-USA, beating the previous best of 197 in WKU's first year in the league in 2015. Every WKU sport has at least six honorees, while eight programs have double-digit honorees.
A total of 3,501 student-athletes earned the honor this year across Conference USA – an 11.5% increase from the previous year.
Student-athletes with a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better will also receive the Commissioner's Academic Medal. Those recipients will be announced Thursday.
WKU Athletics' graduating class for the spring and summer of 2021 featured a cumulative GPA of 3.35, which was the department's highest since at least 2010. During the 2020-21 school year, 90 student-athletes earned their degrees from WKU – including 27 who graduated in December – with a combined grade-point average of 3.27.
