BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — A total of 63 WKU graduating student-athletes are set to have their degrees conferred this spring and summer, with the department's highest cumulative grade point average for a graduating class in more than a decade.
WKU Athletics will have 52 student-athletes earning their degrees this spring with Commencement activities set for this weekend on campus. Another 11 student-athletes are set to receive their degrees this summer.
WKU Athletics' graduating class has a cumulative GPA of 3.35, which is the highest since at least 2010 and raises the bar from the mark of 3.31 set in spring 2020.
Fifteen of the 63 student-athletes will be receiving their graduate degrees, while the rest will be earning their bachelor's degrees.
Twenty-two of the graduates have a cumulative GPA of 3.60 or higher. Among the 15 receiving graduate degrees, eight will finish with a GPA of 3.87 or better, including six perfect 4.0s.
Degrees obtained include psychology, sport management, communication, marketing, exercise science, organizational leadership, recreation and sport administration, management, business administration, accounting, finance, manufacturing engineering tech, interdisciplinary studies, business economics, history, applied economics, business data analytics, special education, nursing, international business, health care administration, hospitality management, criminology, political science and biology.
During the 2020-21 school year, 90 student-athletes will have earned their degrees from WKU – including 27 who graduated in December – with a combined grade-point average of 3.27.
