NFL teams released their 53-man rosters for this upcoming season, which included seven former Hilltoppers...
JACK DOYLE, Indianapolis Colts
Ended the preseason with three receptions for 41 yards and will be returning for his sixth season with the Colts. Doyle is set to be the starting tight end, coming into the season with 174 career receptions for 1,483 yards with 12 touchdowns. He was also named to the WKU Football All-Century team.
GEORGE FANT, Seattle Seahawks
Will be returning to the Seahawks for his third season after suffering a season-ending ACL injury last season. He has made an expected recovery and is competing for the starting right tackle position.
TYLER HIGBEE, Los Angeles Rams
Will be returning to the Rams for his third season and is listed as the starting tight end on the Rams depth chart. Higbee enters the season with 36 career receptions for 380 yards and two touchdowns.
JOEL IYIEGBUNIWE, Chicago Bears
Had a solid preseason by racking up 11 tackles in three games, earning his spot on the Bears' roster. He was selected 115th overall in the fourth round in the 2018 NFL Draft.
FORREST LAMP, Los Angeles Chargers
Will be returning to the Chargers for his second season after suffering a season-ending ACL injury last season. He has made an expected recovery and is competing for the starting right guard position. Lamp was also featured on the WKU Football All-Century team.
TAYWAN TAYLOR, Tennessee Titans
Had an impressive preseason, bringing in six receptions for 113 yards and two touchdowns as well as a comment from LeBron James on Instagram. He will return for his second season with the Titans and will see plenty of time on the field this season. Taylor looks to build on his 16 career receptions for 231 yards with one touchdown. Taylor was also listed on the WKU Football All-Century team.
MIKE WHITE, Dallas Cowboys
Saw playing time this preseason and completed 44-of-70 passes for 414 yards, ending the preseason with a 62.9 percent completion percentage. White is listed as the third string quarterback for the Cowboys. He was selected 171st overall in the fifth round in the 2018 NFL Draft.
DEON YELDER, New Orleans Saints
Although the undrafted free agent signee did not make the active roster, he was signed to the Saints' practice squad following preseason action. Yelder, along with former Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett and others, made the practice squad.
