BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — WKU men's basketball head coach Rick Stansbury announced Tuesday the hiring of Hennssy Auriantal as an assistant coach on his staff.
Â
"We're happy to have Hennssy join our program," Stansbury said. "He brings coaching and playing experience at the D-I level in all areas. Besides that, he's a terrific person and has a beautiful family. We're excited to have him as part of our team."
Â
Auriantal brings both Division I playing and coaching experience to The Hill.
Â
The Canada native previously worked as an assistant coach at Jackson State in Jackson, Miss., from 2013-15.
Â
Auriantal played four seasons at guard at the University of Wisconsin from 1995-99, competing twice in the NCAA Tournament and once in the NIT. He graduated with a degree in kinesiology and was named to the Big Ten All-Academic Team in 1997 and 1999.
Â
He also competed for the Canadian National Basketball Team the year after graduating from the Badgers program.
Â
Auriantal and his wife, Nathalie, have two sons, Naevhen (3 years old) and Teylan (8 months).
