CULVER CITY, Calif. – Still more than two months out from the 2018 season, WKU Volleyball's incoming freshman class is already receiving national attention after being named one of the Highest Honorable Mention units by PrepVolleyball.com. Head coach Travis Hudson and his staff reloaded the Lady Topper squad with four new student-athletes set to arrive on The Hill this fall including: Payton Frederick, Ashley Hood, Katie Isenbarger and Lauren Matthews.
PrepVolleyball.com recognizes its top-30 recruiting classes across the nation and goes on to name a Highest Honorable Mention group along with a High Honorable Mention category. The Lady Toppers were one of 25 squads to fall into the Highest Honorable Mention grade, putting their ranking in the top-55 across the nation. Additionally, 44 more teams earned High Honorable Mention.
Once again, no Conference USA squad received higher recognition than Hudson's program. Rice joined the Lady Toppers in the Highest Honorable Mention group while Marshall brought in High Honorable Mention honors.
The four newcomers are set to join a group of nine returners that have claimed four-straight C-USA regular season and tournament titles. WKU Volleyball is coming off of a 31-4 campaign which included the program's 11th trip – fourth straight – to the NCAA Tournament.
