WKU will take on the Wildcats at 1:30 p.m. CST Wednesday, Nov. 22. The entire bracket was released for the eight-team tournament, which takes place Nov. 22-24 at Atlantis Paradise Island in Paradise Island, Bahamas.
Villanova was ranked as the top team in the country on multiple occasions during the 2016-17 season, finished 32-4 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Wildcats won the school's second national championship in the 2015-16 campaign.
WKU has faced Villanova just once before, in the 1971 Final Four. The Wildcats won that matchup 92-89 in double overtime.
The Hilltoppers will meet either the winner of Purdue/Tennessee or the loser of SMU/Northern Iowa in their second game in the Battle 4 Atlantis, depending on their result against Villanova. Arizona and North Carolina State are also competing, and every team is guaranteed three games. The entire tournament will be televised.
The eight teams in the tournament have won a combined five national championships and reached a combined 16 Final Fours, as well as a combined 78 Sweet Sixteen berths.
