BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — To close action in the month of January, WKU Track and Field is headed to the two-day Indiana Relays event hosted by the Hoosiers in Bloomington, Indiana, on Friday and Saturday. Competition will kick off Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. CT at the Gladstein Fieldhouse and again at 8:20 a.m. CT Saturday morning.
After two weekends of meets in Nashville, Tennessee, the Hilltoppers are headed back to Indiana, where they opened 2017 action at the Purdue Invite. Each of the past two meets, Erik Jenkins' squad has posted eight top-eight finishes. WKU will look to continue improving season-best marks against the 14-team Indiana Relays field. Joining the Red and White in Bloomington will be DePaul, Eastern Illinois, Indiana, Louisville, Miami (OH), North Central, South Florida, Southeast Missouri, Southern Illinois, Southern Illinois - Edwardsville, Tennessee Tech, Tulane and York.
Sixteen Lady Toppers are listed on the Indiana Relays start lists while 17 Hilltoppers are traveling on the men's side.
Action this weekend will give the Hilltopper runners a chance to compete on a banked indoor track for the first time this season prior to the Conference USA Indoor Championships in February. The track at the Harry Gladstein Fieldhouse is 200 meters in distance.
