BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU head coach Jeff Brohm and the 2015 Conference USA Champion Hilltoppers will host their third annual Louisville Kickoff Party on July 19 from 7-9 p.m. ET at the Buffalo Wild Wings in the Shelbyville Road Plaza located at 4600 Shelbyville Road.
Brohm, who enters his third season as WKU's head coach, brought the Tops to historic heights in 2015 as WKU secured their first FBS conference championship, first Associated Press Top 25 ranking, and second consecutive bowl victory in the 2015 Miami Beach Bowl. Under Brohm's guidance, the Hilltoppers have gone 20-7, including a 12-2 mark last season to tie the program's wins record. He is the only coach in program history to win 20 games in his first two seasons.
The upcoming event will feature autographs, prizes and giveaways and food specials. Brohm, select WKU Football assistant coaches, WKU Director of Athletics Todd Stewart and select Hilltoppers of local interest will also speak at the event. Fans will also have the chance to get their photo taken with the 2015 C-USA and bowl championship trophies, and Big Red Vette Raffle tickets will be available for purchase to win a 2016 Corvette.
Several coaches and nearly 20 members of the WKU roster have ties to the Louisville area, representing 11 area high schools.
It is also the first opportunity for fans in the Louisville area to pick up 2016 WKU Football schedule posters and schedule cards in the city prior to the season.
Brohm was one of four family members to earn a gridiron letter from Louisville. He wrapped up his four-year collegiate career with the Cardinals as one of the most prolific offensive players to wear Louisville's jersey. As a three-year starter for the Cards, Brohm ranks among the all-time leaders for passing yards, touchdown passes, completions, total offense and completion percentage. He was also a 1988 Mr. Football winner at Louisville's Trinity High.
