BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - WKU head football coach Jeff Brohm added two more pieces to the 2016 roster on Friday with the addition of graduate transfer tight end Stevie Donatell (Lone Tree, Co.) and high school signee defensive end Cecil Stallings (Tucker, Ga.).
Donatell, who comes to the Hilltoppers from Wake Forest, spent four seasons with the Demon Deacons transitioning from quarterback to outside linebacker and finally to tight end during the 2014 season. The 6-foot-6, 235-pound tight end also snapped and contributed on special teams for Wake Forest and has a rich football background as the son of former Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator, and current Chicago Bears defensive backs coach, Ed Donatell.
Donatell will be eligible immediately for the Hilltoppers who have sent their past three starting tight ends (Jack Doyle, Mitchell Henry and Tyler Higbee) on to the National Football League.
The true freshman, Stallings, adds to the class of 2016 and will join the Hilltoppers with immediate eligibility this fall. A three-star recruit by 247Sports.com and Scout.com, the 6-foot-4, 220-pound defensive end comes to The Hill from Tucker High School outside of Atlanta where he prepped for coach Bryan Lamar. Stallings helped lead his team to a second round spot in the Georgia High School 6A State Playoffs, the state's highest division.
