NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- WKU Track and Field capped a successful weekend at the Meyo Invitational on the campus of the University of Notre Dame as the men's and women's indoor teams captured a pair of events and recorded a total of eight top three finishes.
The Hilltopper relay team of Maor Seged, Ja'Karyus Redwine, Ventavius Sears and Emmanuel Dasor turned in the third-best time in school history in the 4x400 meter relay as the group took the top spot with a time of 3:09.25.The time is currently the 19th best in the NCAA.
Three Hilltoppers notched runner-up finishes as Vincent Wyatt turned in a time of 7.89 seconds in the 60 meter hurdles while Ventavius Sears notched a jump of 7.49 meters in the long jump and Nick Demalin recorded a throw of 18.80 meters in the shot put. Demaline's throw currently ranks No. 13 nationally.
Julius Morris and Redwine both tabbed third place performances in the 200 meter and 60 meter dash respectively. Morris recorded a time of 21.37 seconds while Redwine finished with a time of 6.82 seconds.
Emmanuel Dasor finished in fourth place in the 400 meter dash with a time of 46.89 seconds. The time currently ranks No. 21 in the NCAA.
On the women's side, Carrol Hardy had a successful outing as the junior took the top spot in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.68 seconds. The time currently ranks No. 22 in the nation. Hardy finished in the runner up spot in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.38 seconds.
WKU returns to the track at this weekend's Music City Classic in Nashville. The two-day meet opens on Friday, Feb. 12 and concludes on Saturday at Vanderbilt University.
