BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Fresh of a resounding victory over Conference USA East Division foe Old Dominion, WKU got back to practice on Tuesday as they prepare for Saturday's game in Boca Raton, Fla., against Florida Atlantic.
The game is set for a 2:30 p.m. CT kick off on the American Sports Network. Veteran broadcaster Mike Gleason and former NFL running back Doug Chapman will have the call. Locally in Bowling Green, WKU-PBS will air the game live with coverage also available in Louisville (WBNA), Lexington (WDKY), Paducah (WDKA) and Nashville (WNAB, WUXP).
Full clearances will be announced on Wednesday.
In two previous meetings, head coach Jeff Brohm has stressed the importance of knowing the defensive scheme of the Owls and how they are built to defend what the Hilltoppers do well. Co-offensive coordinator Brian Brohm echoed his brother's statements on Tuesday.
"(FAU) will challenge our receivers and get up and press them," Brohm said. "They'll make you complete some passes against tough one-on-one coverage. They have some good pass rushers who can get into the quarterback. We have to be ready for a very athletic defense."
WKU will be without leading rusher Anthony Wales for the first half which lends the opportunity to freshmen backs Quinton Baker and Marquez Trigg to carry the rock for the first two quarters.
"We need those guys to step up. We've asked them to do it multiple times this year and every time we have asked, they have stepped up," Brohm added. "We're looking forward to giving them some more time and seeing what they can do."
