BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Senior Defender Chandler Clark was named to NSCAA All-Central Region third team, the organization announced on Thursday. Clark capped off a four-year career with the Lady Toppers on Nov. 4, when WKU was eliminated from the Conference USA Championship by North Texas in Miami, Fla.
This is the second All-Central Region third team honor for Clark after being named to the team in 2013, her sophomore season.
Clark was an integral part of the WKU defense that held opponents to 24 goals on the season, including only eight goals in the last 10 games of the season. The defensive leader started every game for WKU during her junior and senior seasons, starting in 44 consecutive games dating back to her sophomore season. She played all but 42 minutes for the Lady Toppers on the backline this season.
With Clark as a leader on defense, the Lady Toppers pitched six shutouts on the season and Clark and the defense held opponents to an average of only 12.3 shots per game. The Edgewood, Ky. native also contributed on the offensive side of the field during her senior season with a goal against UT Martin. She had three assists on the season, second most on the team. Clark finishes her career with three goals, four assists and 10 points.
