BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- WKU women's tennis head coach Jonatan Berhane announced the schedule for the upcoming 2016 spring season on Thursday. The Lady Toppers play 17 regular season matches, including two home matches at the WKU Tennis Complex.
The schedule features two teams ranked in the top 75 ITA rankings in Middle Tennessee and Indiana and a back-to-back OVC champion Murray State.
The Lady Toppers will start the season with a trip to Louisville, Ky. Jan. 15 and 16 to face Southern Illinois and Louisville. They will finish January with a trip to Bloomington, Ind. to face Indiana.
In February, WKU will travel to Lipscomb, Eastern Kentucky, Ball State, Murray State and Belmont. The Lady Toppers hit the ground running in March with eight matches in the month, including two at the WKU Tennis Complex. WKU will take on Austin Peay to start out and then will take advantage of spring break and travel to Louisiana-Lafayette, Stephen F. Austin and Louisiana-Monroe during the week. The first home match will be on March 15 against UT Chattanooga at 1:00 PM. Then WKU takes on Arkansas State and Evansville on the road before returning home again on March 26 against Lindsey Wilson at 2:00 PM.
WKU will wrap up the regular season at Middle Tennessee on April 15 before heading back to Murfreesboro, Tenn. for the Conference USA Championship on April 20.
