BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Three members of the WKU Soccer team were named to Conference USA All-Academic teams, the league announced Wednesday. Caitlin Hesse earned first team honors while Chandler Clark and Iris Dunn were placed on second team.
Hesse was named an Academic All-District team member already this season by College Sports Information Directors of America. She is still eligible for Academic All-American honors being announced later in November. The junior has posted a perfect 4.0 GPA in her time on the Hill while majoring in Biology. The Atlanta, Ga. native earned All-Conference Academic Second Team honors last season as well as receiving the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal in the 2014-15 school year. Hesse started every game for the Lady Toppers this season and was tied for a team-high four assists on the season.
Clark holds a 3.51 GPA as a senior in the Mechanical Engineering program at WKU. The Edgewood, Ky. native serves as president of WKU's branch of the American Society of Mechanical Engineering and represents WKU as an engineering ambassador. Clark started in 45 consecutive games for WKU and had a goal and three assists this season.
Dunn owns a 3.81 GPA as an Interdisciplinary Studies major with a pre-nursing concentration. The junior was named to the conference All-Academic second team last season and was awarded the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal. The Tavernier, Fla. native was the co-leading scorer for WKU this season with five goals. Her 17 career goals places her as the 8th all-time scorer in program history.
