BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- After clinching at least a share of the 2015 Conference USA regular season championship Thursday evening with a straight-set victory over Marshall, No. 24 WKU volleyball will look to capture the program's first outright title with a noon CT. match against UTEP Saturday afternoon in E.A. Diddle Arena.
WKU's bout with the Miners will be WKU's Senior Day as the outstanding veteran group of Noelle Langenkamp, Haley Bodway and Rachel Engle will be honored in a ceremony five minutes prior to first serve.
In their four years on The Hill, the trio have led WKU to an outstanding 117-19 overall record including a 51-3 mark in matches played in Diddle Arena. The trio spent their first two years at WKU as a member of the Sun Belt Conference and their final two seasons in Conference USA. Overall, the group has helped WKU achieve a combined record of 61-3 in conference matches. The three have led WKU to conference regular season championships in all four years and have an opportunity to guide the Lady Topper program to its first outright C-USA regular season championship with a victory over UTEP Sat-urday. As a class, Langenankamp, Bodway and Engel have helped lead WKU to two 30-win seasons and a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances.
WKU comes into Saturday's match on a four-match winning streak as the Lady Toppers responded to dropping their first C-USA contest of the year, a five-set thriller to Rice, with four consecutive sweeps. On the year, 18 of WKU's nationally best 27 victories have come in straight sets.
Saturday's match with UTEP will be the second meeting between the two teams on the year as WKU travelled to El Paso, Texas, on Sunday, November 1, and earned a straight-set victory over the Miners. Bodway led the way for the Lady Tops as the senior recorded her 1,000th career kill as the outside hitter finished with a match-high 12 off .556 hitting.
WKU (27-3, 14-1 C-USA) has secured the No. 1 seed in next weekend's Conference USA Tournament hosted by UTSA in San Antonio, Texas. The tournament is slated to begin on Friday, November 20, and last through Sunday.
Saturday's match will also be a White Out as the first 150 fans will receive a FREE Fandanna.
