BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Football completed its final practice on Thursday ahead of its first road conference game of the season at Rice this Saturday.
The game is set for 2:30 p.m. from Rice Stadium in Houston and will broadcast nationally on FSN, with Brendan Burke, Ben Leber and Christian Steckel on the call.
"Practice went very well this week. I think our guys are locked in and ready to go," said head coach Jeff Brohm. "This is a big game for us. This is a big game because it's a conference game and because Rice is a very good football team. We're going to have to go down there and be completely locked in, focused and find a way to play harder than them in order to win."
Rice will be led by talented quarterback Driphus Jackson, and Brohm talked about trying to slow down Jackson and the Owls' offense.
"I think Rice does a good job on offense. Their quarterback, like ours, is very experienced. He makes good decisions. He's a good passer, but he's also a good runner. We're going to have to contain him and not let him make runs outside the pocket. They have a very good football team, and without question, it's going to be a very good game."
