BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Two practices in and the WKU Hilltoppers have closed out their first weekend of fall camp, marching their way towards an August 29 season opener when they host Bowling Green inside Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium.
Cool summer temperatures greeted the Hilltoppers as they exited the field after a roughly two-hour, and senior offensive tackle - and birthday boy - Cameron Clemmons spoke exclusive to WKUSports.com about the team's progress during the first two days of camp.
"Things are going well," Clemmons said. "Any time you come into a new season, the first few practices are always tough. Each year you gain more experience though, take care of your body, and I think I've gotten wiser each year."
Under first-year head coach Jeff Brohm, the team has adopted a workman-like attitude, and Clemmons said it has been apparent so far.
"Our work ethic (has stuck out to me the most)," he added. "I'm proud of how we are doing things."
The Hilltoppers return to the practice field tomorrow afternoon, working out at 4:30, and the practice is open to the public, as are all practices through August 15. For a full schedule of open practices, visit WKUSports.com.
