Michelle Clark-Heard QUOTES:
On getting another win...
"Winning six games in a row, no matter how many points you win by, that's a big deal, especially in conference play. We just keep getting better and better. Maybe a month and a half ago, if they would have made a run like that, I don't know what would've happened with this team, but we continue to keep fighting. I'm glad that we could go out with a win for Chaney (Means) and Bianca (McGee) and for the fans. We've been playing well on the road and I wanted us to come here and have an opportunity for the fans to get a chance to see how hard this team plays and how much better we're working to get each day."
On ULL being a tough team...
"They can shoot it, their quick, they rebound. You saw it, they fought all the way to the end and they never give up. When you have kids that play that hard and the way to compete, I think they'll always have a chance to win."
On not allowing ULL to complete the comeback...
"I think the biggest thing is that we focus on what we need to do and get stops; that's what we talked about. They like to get their hands on the ball a lot so we needed to protect the ball. Be strong, get the ball in bounds. They understand and know when we call those timeouts and we go to the huddle, what we want to talk about so we can figure out what we need to get done when we get back on the floor."
"At the beginning of the season, we set a goal to protect our home court. We lost to Texas State, Arkansas State, and to Louisville. When you look at that, that's protecting your home court. I'm really excited for our group for that and that was just one of the goals that we met. Now, we have to go on the road and finish strong. I think the team will be focused and ready to go.
On Georgia State...
"I think they have all the pieces. It's going to be a test for us. We have to focus and do the things that we need to. We're just going to have to be focused and ready to go and follow the game plan."
On Crystal Kelly being at the game...
"She just told them that she was excited to see them play. I just told her I was really thankful and happy for her to come to our last game. That means a lot."
On winning back-to-back 20-win seasons...
"If you had told me when I first took this job that we'd have two 20-win seasons back-to-back, I would've told you that you were crazy. When we got into the first couple of months my first year, I knew this was a special group. I'm just super proud of this staff also. You talk about 20 wins, that's all of us. We went out and recruited and we got some pieces. You see how well Bria (Gaines) is getting better and how Kendal Noble has evolved. I'm just proud to have the opportunity to be sitting here in my second year and to get 20 wins back-to-back."
