BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Both WKU tennis teams will travel to Clarksville, Tenn., on Friday to face Austin Peay. The Lady Toppers (2-1) will play at 1 p.m. (CT) with the Hilltoppers (2-1) scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m. The Lady Toppers turn around and face Bellarmine on Saturday morning at 10 in Louisville, Ky.
Senior Monta Reinfelde leads the Lady Toppers with a 3-0 record at the No. 1 singles spot. She has won 44 of her 52 matches at the top singles position in her WKU career. The Lady Toppers have also had success this season at the No. 1 doubles position, with Reinfelde joining junior Madeline Phillips for a 2-1 record on the year.
On Saturday, the Lady Toppers will try to do what the Hilltoppers did on Feb. 8; win at Bellarmine. The Lady Toppers beat the Knights 7-0 a year ago.
The Hilltoppers will look to get back on track after last week's loss to USI. WKU and Austin Peay first met in 1963 with the Governors leading the all-time series 29-28. Senior Josh Smith is 3-0 at the No. 3 singles spot and is 2-1 in doubles play this season.
