BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - WKU will welcome back alumni, former letterwinners, and friends of the University on Saturday as the Hilltoppers kickoff their 83rd Homecoming Game in a Conference USA showdown with UTEP.
Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. inside Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium.

On Thursday, head coach Jeff Brohm will join fans at the annual Chili and Cheese Luncheon, held this year at Hitcents Park Plaza inside 6-4-3 Sports Bar. The two-hour event begins at 11 a.m. with the pep rally beginning at Noon. For $5, fans can enjoy a hot bowl of chili and a grilled cheese sandwich.
Later Thursday night, Eli Young Band rocks E.A. Diddle Arena for the annual Homecoming Concert at 7:30 p.m. to get the ball moving for Homecoming. On Friday, the Homecoming Parade begins at 5 p.m. from campus and carries into downtown Bowling Green where Big Red's Roar 2014 rallies the crowd at 6:30 p.m.
WKU will induct Dan King, Lee Murray, Darnell Mee and Chris Price into the WKU Athletic Hall of Fame, beginning with the W-Club Homecoming Brunch on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. inside E.A. Diddle Arena. The four honorees will also be recognized at halftime of the game.
It all leads up to the game inside Houchens-Smith Stadium where WKU's high-powered offense faces another stout defense from the visitors from the west. WKU is scoring a 41.1 point per game clip, second-best in the league, while UTEP's scoring defense is No. 6, allowing 30.0 points per contest. Offensively, the Hilltoppers averaging 521.8 yards, again the league's second-best mark and No. 7 nationally. UTEP is allowing just 391.1 yards per game, sixth-fewest in C-USA.
Styles will also be at play in the contest as the Hilltoppers are the seventh-fastest offense in the country, running 3.33 plays per minute, up nearly 25-percent from 2013, while UTEP is the nation's slowest offense, running just 2.22 plays per minute as dictated by their time of possession based running style.
