HEAD COACH RAY HARPER
On what he was able to see tonight:
"I thought we shared the ball and did a pretty good job at that. Our defensive intensity was not there. Our rotations were terrible at times. There are a lot of areas for improvement."
On being worried about Monday's game against Ole Miss:
"No, it was about what I expected. First game back after the break, playing someone that they think they're going to beat. We told these guys, 'this game is about us, it's not about them.' You have to be disciplined; you have to be mature enough to handle it the right way. We win by 38. It wasn't going to be perfect, but I didn't think we were selfish. We did a good job of sharing the basketball. Biggest thing was our defensive rotations and sometimes in transition, we weren't very good stopping the basketball. We have about 24 hours to fix that or else we'll have a big problem Monday evening."
On facing Ole Miss on Monday:
"They're an extremely good basketball team. They have a lot of offensive weapons. Marshall Henderson doesn't even start. They present a lot of problems. They can score from a lot of different positions. It'll be a real challenge for us, but hopefully one that we're up to."
On if the gap has closed to where they need to be over the last few weeks:
"The thing you have to do as a basketball team is to understand it's a journey from November to March, and the teams that are consistent with their work ethic each and every day; those are the ones that are going to be teams to be reckoned with come March."
On being able to unload the bench with a big lead:
"It was good. Ben Lawson is a guy that we're probably going to try and find more and more minutes for. The minutes that he got tonight, once again he showed us some things on the defensive end. He was always in a stance, he was active. That's what those minutes were for. Some people know how to use them, some don't. He used them wisely, and I was really impressed with what I saw out of Ben (Lawson) tonight."
REDSHIRT-SENIOR GUARD Caden Dickerson
On what this game allowed the team to work on:
"Definitely our offense and defense. Starting the game with intensity. We have come out flat the past couple of games, so that was a big emphasis in this game."
On how a game like this will help on Monday against Ole Miss:
"It will definitely help. Monday we have a big test against a great basketball team. So this was definitely going to help us."
REDSHIRT-JUNIOR GUARD Trency Jackson
On his thoughts about playing Ole Miss being from Mississippi:
"Just to play WKU basketball. We need to get better as a team. We are not playing against the other team, we are mostly playing against ourselves. Like, staying disciplined on defense. We tend to jump on the pass, jump at a shot fake. We just need to stay disciplined and get better as a team every day."
On being comfortable where WKU is as team right now:
"I'm very comfortable with the way it's looking right now. We're getting better. It's not that far of a way to go. We have to fix the little things, and once we fix those we'll be a great team."
